While we were brainstorming about making Bucharest Hubb “a place of choice” for Romanian online community, we realized that even the people involved in the club’s logistics must enjoy spending time there. Thus, our goal is to have as little employees as possible to operate Bucharest Hubb. That’s because usually employees feel compelled by working hours, labor agreement and most likely they will call it “work”.

So, our solution for having passion and fun amongst the people who contribute to Bucharest Hubb functioning is to empower them and let them be creative.

We need 9 persons that want to help us voluntarily with specific activities such as: attracting new members, PR, internal events, retention, referrals and partnerships. Such activities require 2 up to 3 hours a day for someone that is already involved in a personal project or even a job.

We prefer people with marketing and communication experience that can work independently and are natural born enthusiasts. Being in online industry is a must, just like for all members of the club.

This week, Razvan Tirboaca and Razvan Iacob reached an agreement with Cristian Manafu concerning his involvement in AdCaptcher as Advisor.

Adcaptcher is a tool that provides advertising through captcha (you know, those words that you are required to copy every time you register somewhere on the web). Razvan & Razvan told us that Manafu knew about this project since the birth of the idea and the three kept in touch for the following developments. When Seedmoney launched the advisors list, the two founders saw the opportunity and decided to approach Cristi for the advisor role.

They reached an agreement in less then a week and the business share offered to Cristi Manafu was 2%. “We now have a gentlemen’s agreement but we are going to take care of the legal aspects very soon” told us Razvan Tirboaca, one of the founders.

Cristian Manafu agreed to participate in Seedmoney’s startup advisory project and, from what we know, he is the first to be involved in a web project as advisor. Cristi will contribute with advice to product development and communication.

Last week we launched an online poll in order to get some insights about the value and the sources of learning among internet entrepreneurs.
First of all, we want to thank all of you that answered our questions, it was quite a big group! And now we want to share with you the results so that we all can learn and improve where it’s needed.

About 80% of those who took the survey were entrepreneurs, the rest of 20% being related to online business with different jobs/occupations. Most entrepreneurs that participated in the survey have 1 to 3 years of experience in this role.

So, we found out that online entrepreneurs love free internet resources and 98% percent use these to acquire knowledge and information. That’s not a surprise, but let’s look further: 83% are reading books and 54-56% go to conferences/seminars and read magazines and newspapers. Who said internet people don’t read? 25% get knowledge through a personal coach.

Knowledge is valued in terms of money spent monthly under 100 euros by the majority of the respondents. Most of them spend between 10 and 50 euros a month for knowledge and information (38%).

How about results? 62% place responsibility of their success on the knowledge and information that they acquired at a certain moment.

So much for the past. We are interested in the future so we asked what are the domains in which they are willing to invest time and money to expand their knowledge. The first choice was about entrepreneurship and starting a business and second the ability to manage people. Entrepreneurs place finance and IT skills at the end of their list.

Speaking about the structure of the information or the manner in which knowledge is delivered, our respondents stated that they would rather attend workshops and webinars thand going to offline courses or using books or CDs. Note that a bigger percent of entrepreneurs would like coaching one to one (56%) compared to the number that actually uses this form of learning (25% observed previously in a chart).
