That’s why, on the 4th of March we are throwing a party to celebrate the opening of the first business accelerator for online startups in Romania. Razvan Durlan is one of the young Romanian entrepreneurs specializing in communication and public relations.

He acts independently and is not affiliated with any local or international agency, and has been running his own business for about three years. Boasting relevant expertise in both commercial and brand-related communication in such diverse fields as banking and investment/retail, FMCG, fashion & beauty, health and pharmaceuticals, it & c, real estate development and cultural, Razvan has been as early as 2005 attracted by online communication, when he was involved in a joint project including fellow freelance journalists among others.

His professional career also includes eight years of journalistic experience in both local and national coverage media, and in 2004 – 2005 he developed the first pilot program for the mathematics Olympics winners, which counts as one of the most far-reaching and successful communication campaigns, and the FABC caravan.

Bogdan Iordache started working for various companies in the Internet and software development areas in 2000. At the present moment, he is the founder of Conectoo – email marketing platform and AlphaTalks – emailing service handling third-party application emails. He is also involved in various educational programs, such as Stagii pe Bune.

Bogdan took the path of entrepreneurship the old fashion way, at the young age of 8, when he would trade chewing gum, Bravo and Popcorn posters, stickers,   computer essays, or work as a DJ and carry crates, thus discovering his passion for endeavor.

After graduating from the Automatics and Computers Faculty at the Polytechnic University in Bucharest, Bogdan developed his studies with a masters in e-learning, at the University in Nantes.

In 2004 he returned to Romania and started (as founder or co-founder) Stagii pe Bune – educational program for IT students and ASPI – the Association of Students and Professional in IT&C, interactive People (closed), Conectoo and Alphatalks.

He has been well acquainted to failure and success, both being indispensable  to the pursuit for accomplishment.

Bogdan believes in the values of education and has always tried to put an emphasis on the importance of guidance for students and young professionals, being involved in various educational programs as his aim is to help individuals achieve their maximum potential.

We finally opened Bucharest Hubb for public! Since the 1st of February 2010 you can benefit from the first space open exclusively to online professionals and entrepreneurs in Romania. Dragos Roua is a self-made entrepreneur. He started his first Internet Business back in 1999, when Internet meant dial-up and search engine was proudly represented by Altavista. He started a network of websites in late 1999 and sold it in 2008. Been market leader in vertical niches like cars (masini.ro) and lifestyle (culinar.ro). He travels more than he works, or so the word goes. Besides his active online presence he started in late 2009 two offline workshops in Romania: a 2 days mentorship workshops for online entrepreneurs and a 3 days blogging course. While we were brainstorming about making Bucharest Hubb “a place of choice” for Romanian online community, we realized that even the people involved in the club’s logistics must enjoy spending time there. Thus, our goal is to have as little employees as possible to operate Bucharest Hubb. That’s because usually employees feel compelled by working hours, labor agreement and most likely they will call it “work”.

So, our solution for having passion and fun amongst the people who contribute to Bucharest Hubb functioning is to empower them and let them be creative.

We need 9 persons that want to help us voluntarily with specific activities such as: attracting new members, PR, internal events, retention, referrals and partnerships. Such activities require 2 up to 3 hours a day for someone that is already involved in a personal project or even a job.

Cristina Alexandru is co-founder and Project manager of startups.ro. She is a business journalist with ten years of experience in writing about entrepreneurship, management and investments in Romania. Prior to launching startups.ro, she was a senior journalist for Business Week Romania.
