Dragos is a Business Advisor for technology startups. His passion for technology and entrepreneurship has resulted in the establishment of the company System & Network Solutions one of the first and the few local companies dedicated to administration, development and promotion of Linux / Open Source Software.
He established Ghelir (http://www.ghelir.ro) , the first Romanian online store that sells a single product per day, a platform that was subsequently used/ copied by other local shops. He started Simplissimo (http://www.simplissimo.ro), which is the online department of SNS. He developed clustering high-availability and high performance computing projects for financial institutions and the administration of meteorology. He formed a partnership with Red Hat Inc. (http://redhat.sns.ro) in order to organise the first Linux conference in Romania which was attended by Red Hat top management. He wrote and published Linux Starter’s Kit (http://lsk.sns.ro), the only Romanian Linux beginners’ guide. He initiated RBL – Romanian Black List (http://rbl.sns.ro) – the first Romanian anti spam system, based on blacklisting, which APTI has recently started using for the http://www.abuse.ro project. He designed Hilux http://oss.sns.ro – an improved version of Woody Debian Installer which is a highly used and appreciated open source project. On-the-spot trainer for Linux/Unix courses and system administration.
Personal projects: Dragos is co-founder and editor at Solvabil.ro an educational site dealing with personal finances. He collaborates with the largest online newspaper in Romania, Hotnews.ro, as a sales consultant. He is a member of JCI Bucuresi, part of Junior Chamber International. Also he is a former member and current supporter of APTI, Association for Technology and Internet (http://www.apti.ro) and of LUG, Romanian Linux users Group.
