Calin Fusu

Calin was born in Moldova and came to Romania in 1990, right after the fall of the communist regime. He was then 16 years old and he became the youngest student of the University of Economic Studies in Bucharest. He studied International Economic Relations but he took his degree in stock exchange.
He first worked as a broker at the Romanian Stock Exchange for a couple of years. But he realized that working for someone else was not his calling so decided to enter the internet business. He heard of the successes that some internet businesses had abroad but he had no knowledge of IT and software.
In 2000 he puts an add on a newspaper to find partners with IT experience and he associates with Andras Nagy, Zoltan Bodo si Robert Laszlo from Targu Mures. They are now still partners after all these years at Neogen, the company that controls the job board bestjobs.ro, the dating service noi2.ro and the social network neogen.ro.
Neogen started it’s regional expansion in 2005 with Bulgaria, Moldova and Serbia and Calin Fusu decided to gain market share by buying some websites with valuable user databases.
In 2007 a minority of Neogen’s shares was acquired by Tiger Global Management and Wouwer, two investment founds. Calin Fusu became one of the youngest Romanian millionaires, and one of the few Romanian internet millionaires.
The Neogen network is accessed in October 2009 by 1 milion users and has 20 000 corporate clients.
